Buddha: The Enlightened One
Siddhartha Gautama, known as the Buddha, was born in Nepal around the 5th-4th century BCE. He was a prince who gave up a life of luxury to seek the truth about human suffering. After years of meditation and self-discipline, he attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, realizing the path to freedom from suffering.
Buddha’s teachings, known as Dharma, focus on the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path. They guide people toward wisdom, ethical conduct, and mental discipline, helping individuals achieve inner peace and liberation (Nirvana).
Buddhism, inspired by his teachings, emphasizes compassion, mindfulness, and understanding the impermanent nature of life. Today, Buddha remains a symbol of peace, enlightenment, and spiritual awakening, inspiring millions across the world.
